Jame Sterwart was on DMXS Radio last night speaking freely about several issues over this season.
Stewart said he is planning to stay in shape while out but wants to take time to heal 100% so no long term problems will come from his injuries. DMXS asked him if he would do anything different in Phoenix, the track where he crossed paths in front of Partridge and he answered no. He said it was a racing accident and that's all. He said being one of the top guys in our sport, he deserves every criticism he gets and every praise he gets. He knows it was a racing accident but, people say he is dangerous and all that but, he had two choices that night. One was to run into the back of Windham or cut over. Stewart said he did not see Partridge when he made his move and the tangled up. When asked if he would do the same thing over, Stewart answered yes he would. He took the blame however, saying that it was his fault for the accident. He said he shouldn't have cut over but when Windham jumped straight up, he didn't want to run into him. He then said "You win all these races, do one thing wrong and it's like your the worse person in the world, it is what it is."
DMXS asked about the confrontation with Reed and pushing Reed's bike over, which he was jokingly denying doing. Stewart explained that he was human too and has emotions and it angered him when Reed cut under him taking him out. He said he has since had time to review the incident and felt that he was wrong about the take out move but, they have had "History" between the two of them and figured it was as it appeared to be that night.
He went on to talk about what he enjoys doing while having the time off. What "James Stewart" is like when he is not racing but sitting at home watching YouTube video's and such. One of the biggest surprises was when he later said he would be competing in the Nationals this year. To hear the full interview, check out www.DMXSRadio.com . The interview was approximately an hour long and Stewart was pretty jovial during it and sounded really relaxed. I think if you take the time to listen, you will enjoy it as well.
